TOWARDS SUBJECTIVE SOUND MAPPING

Swann Thommen

Artist Swann Thommen recorded the sounds of a typical day for six inhabitants of Zurich and Geneva living in downtown or peri-urban areas. He also equipped with a GPS system in order to track their movements. From this were born six six-minute montages, as well as a set of maps, charts and diagrams that visually and acoustically reveal a variety of mobile lifestyles. Sensory immersion that complements the research project of geographer Sebastian Munafo, Living environments, lifestyles and leisure mobilities.
